Custom Design Postcard: Applications and Printing Tips

Custom design postcard

While there are many different marketing methods, a simple custom design postcard mailed to a customer can make all the difference with increasing sales and revenue. With most business-to-customer connections being done through email, a custom design postcard in the mail is the perfect wake me up to sleepy customers who might have missed some of your previous outreach emails. It’s also a great way to say “Hello!” to new prospective customers. When using a custom design postcard for promo, you can’t just use any old card – some generic designs might not market your business to its fullest potential. The best route to go would be a custom design postcard that can effectively market your business in a unique way. Here are some tips for the design, printing and application of a custom postcard for your business.

To create an effective custom design postcard, you should know these two things:

1.  Know your customers. Design your postcard for the audience you are aiming to market to. For example, use bright colors, fun fonts and abstract designs for teens and young adults or try muted colors and simple designs for an older, mature customer.

2. Know your intentions. A good custom design postcard will  displays exactly what is being marketed. Ask yourself if you are reaching out for promotion, for an event, or for a personal reason? Then start designing!

To print an effective custom design postcard, focus on these things:

1. The Right Stock. The type of paper your postcard is being printed on can tell a lot about your business to your customers. Consider going with a thicker stock as opposed to something lighter. This can let a customer know that you put a lot of thought and effort into reaching out and connecting with them. Also, consider your design. If your postcard is featuring a lot of photographs, glossy is the way to go. Have a lot of text? Try matte.

2. Image Resolution. Remember to look for high-res images and vector graphics to ensure the best quality after printing. No one likes a pixelated postcard, which are often a sign of a low-res file or images. Avoid this by using only high quality graphics.

As mentioned earlier, remember to always switch it up with marketing and use different medias to reach out to customers. While these are only a few tips on creating a exclusive custom postcard design to connect with customers, there are many other methods to be innovative with custom design postcards!
