Using Flyers for Advertising

One of the oldest methods of advertising is using flyers. Flyers are a great marketing resource and strategy for all companies, not just those specializing in events or sales. While flyers may have seemed to become obsolete in today’s tech age, Technology only aids the marketing world now with providing online digital flyers as a way of marketing. Nonetheless, here are some reasons why flyers have been and will continue to be a great asset to any marketing strategy:

Flyers are extremely low cost

Flyers are probably one of the most cost-effective marketing strategies available today. Instead of investing thousands of dollars in expensive online marketing, billboards, TV advertisement slots, you can pay a professional graphic designer to design a flyer for your marketing campaign. Afterward, you can easily run off copies of the flyers for a few cents or you can post the flyers on social media to increase brand awareness.

Flyers provide high impact

Flyers can easily and quickly reach a large audience, sometimes faster than other means of marketing. They also take the guesswork out of where or when would be a good time to promote your company. Simply hand out flyers or post one in areas where your target audience would see them. With flyers only requiring a spot for posting, many local shops and restaurants are usually very welcoming to businesses posting a flyer or ad in their store.

People love physical marketing

Having a nice, well-printed flyer in your customer’s hand is always a good thing. Spend some extra money to get your flyers printed in high quality on high-quality paper and your customers will take notice of the extra mile your company went to get their business.

T Shirting Printing: DTG vs Screen Printing

Are you ready to start your own t-shirt line? Have you already begun thinking of all the designs you want to get imposed on your t-shirt? Before you do, did you decide on the method you’ll use to print your custom tees? In the t-shirt printing world, there are many different options available, each one with its advantages and disadvantages. Two of the most common printing methods for T-shirts are DTG and Screen Printing. Here is some information on both methods:

Direct to Garment (DTG) Printing :

DTG printing is the process of applying ink directly onto a t-shirt with inkjet techniques. This method is like printing on paper; a special printer is used to deposit the ink directly onto the garment to reproduce your design. The inks used in DTG printing are specialty water-based inks, which are easily absorbed by the fibers in the garment.

DTG printing allows printers to print higher detailed images and designs on clothing items because it is just as precise as your desktop printer. This also allows DTG printing to be the best option if you have multiple images or complex designs; there are endless options!

DTG is also more affordable than screen printing. Unlike Screen printing, there is no requirement to print a large quantity at once. Orders for DTG can be as little or as large as your company desires!

Screen Printing :

Screen printing describes the process of pushing ink through a mesh stencil called a screen onto fabric. In the stencil, your design is “cut out” creating small openings in the mesh where the ink will fall through to create the design only in these areas. Ink is deposited onto the screen and then pushed and pulled over the garment with a blade of a squeegee.

Unlike DTG, with Screen printing, only one color can be applied at a time. Because of this, screen printing is a good option for designs that have limited colors and are not greatly complex or detailed. Screen printing is a good choice for simple designs with one color and for large orders that are of the same design.

While the garment printing world can be a little confusing, here at Optamark we offer both services with experts in printing who can help assist in determining which method is best for your product!

Let your company be the one telling your customers through promotional products. Sometimes communications with your graphic designer or graphics department can feel as if your talking to someone in a different language. What are these terms? A bleed? A crop mark? To the average individual, these terms can mean anything. But in the world of art, graphics and printing these terms have specific meanings. Here are some Graphic Design terms defined to help make your communications process easier!

    • Bleed

the bleed on a design is when the edges of the artwork extend past the “page edge. This helps prevent any unwanted white borders from being kept in the final piece.

    • Trim mark/crop mark

This mark is a thin line that marks the final size of a piece after it has been cut down. These marks let your printer know where each document should be cut and the finished size of the product.

    • Margin

the margin is considered the safe zone of your printed piece. Any art or text placed within the margin won’t run the risk of being cut off, for example your copy or any important content.

Choosing Promotional Products to Last

Using Promotional Products has been noted as one of the oldest methods of marketing. Different from radio ads and posters, promotional products have a physical purpose and is usually something that can be used repeatedly. The best promotional products are the ones that can withstand the test of time.

When looking for lasting promotional products look for those that are high quality, usually made from good quality material. For example, leather is a high-quality material that is known to last for ages. Leather journals, coin cases or business card holders are sure to grab attention and last a long time. Items that are made from metal, stainless steel or glass are also good options for long lasting.

Promotional drink ware is a nice way to send a lasting reminder to your customers about your company. Not only will it last long, but it will more than likely be used regularly. Another great idea are kitchen utensils. Useful kitchen utensils are always a favorite to customers especially if its something unique.

Items that are of high quality AND useful are sure to make lasting impressions in the hands of your customers. At Optamark we vow to always provide the best quality in all our goods, both promotional and printed. Check out our products here.

The Right Color for Promo Products

Imagine living in a world without color. It’s hard to picture, especially because color is such a huge part of our lives. While many of us may take color for granted, color has a major impact on our decisions and emotions. For example, think about when you go shopping, do you tend to gravitate towards certain colors over others? Maybe bright colors in the spring? Maybe red’s and greens in the holiday seasons? Whatever the case, consumers rely heavily on color to make their decision.

So why does color matter when selecting a promo product to represent your company?

  1. Target Audience

The color of your promo product should determine your target audience. If you are trying to attract a younger audience to your business consider using Bright, fun colors on your products. If you want to attract an older, mature audience, try using neutrals. Color also conveys many emotions. If you know the general mood or emotion of your target audience you can use color as a tool in your marketing strategy.

  1. Brand Image

Think about your brand image. Now think about your marketing? Is your current marketing meeting the same “mood” of your brand? Color is a great aid in enforcing your brand’s mood. Are you a fitness based company? Consider using cool blues to enforce motivation and tranquility. Business geared towards kids? Consider using bright yellows or reds to enforce the fun and exciting aura of your company.

Having difficulty determining a color for branded products, consider these questions: What color suits your brand personality and the characteristics of your products or services? What do you want customers to feel when they interact or associate with your brand?

When it comes to marketing, the colors representing your business can have a major impact. Who would have thought something so overlooked can be one of the number one decision making motives?

Ways to Improve your Customer Service

Customer Service is the biggest driving force of maintaining a strong client retention rate. Customer service can spread your business greatly through word of mouth, but the impact it will have on your company depends on if your employees customer service is good or bad. Here are some tips for creating a positive and helpful customer service reputation:

1. Pay attention to employee personalities

Face to Face interactions as well as on the phone interactions are the number one areas of customer service complaints. Customers remember if your employee who answered their question was helpful and approachable or were rude and unwilling. When making decisions on who should deal with customer interactions, remember to pay attention to the personalities of your employees. Aim for those who fit the “Friendly and approachable” mindset.

2. Inform your staff

When starting new procedures in the company regarding customer relations, make sure every memeber on your staff is well informed. This includes much more than telling them what the new procedure is such as how to handle customer questions or complaints regarding the change.  An employee who is not well informed or confused will be unable to answer customer questions which in turn can lead to poor customer service.

3. Provide other means of customer service

Aside from phone calls and face to face interactions, there are other platforms that can influence your customer service. Ensure that your company’s website is descriptive and can answer many basic questions that do not require a phone call. Consider adding a FAQ page or a Direct messaging/chat section on your site for quick and easy solutions.

4. Be Proactive

Instead of simply reacting to problems AFTER they occur, try and figure out solutions to common problems BEFORE they happen. Be aware of potential areas or services that can create conflicts between employees and customers. Ask customers what they would do to improve your customer service or their experience with dealing with your company. Remember to always remain Professional when handling any customer service interaction.

5. Employee Incentives

Employee Incentives are a great way to boost positive customer service interactions in your company. Offering gift items to your employees or departments with the best customer service rating or the lowest amount of complaints against is good way to create friendly competition amongst staff. Consider giving high quality promotional items such as the ones found on our promotional products page here such as photo frames, cameras or speakers.

Things to Consider When Designing a T-shirt

T-shirts are a major staple in the everyday, every person’s wardrobe. From plain tee’s, to patterned, to graphic, everyone has a t-shirt in their closet. T-shirt design is a great marketing tools and a great medium for showcasing your creativity. Here are some things to consider when designing a t- shirt:

1. Why are you designing this?

What is the purpose of this t-shirt? Is there a purpose? Should it represent or stand for something? Or is it just a nice design that should be shared with the public? Before designing your t-shirt, consider these questions. You should establish a core message or idea before you begin designing as different messages will require a different design.

2. Who am I making this for?

What is the audience? Who am I targeting? Where will they wear this? Before designing your shirt consider these questions as well. Knowing who you are designing for and the trends/patterns of that demographic will help move your design process along tremendously.

3. What is the market for my T-shirt design?

If you are selling for profit, consider the market you want to target. Will they buy this t-shirt design over others that are already competing in the market?

4. Do I have the skills to create this T-shirt design?

Decide early on if you possess the expertise or skill to create your design. Some complex designs may require assistance from a outside source, such as a graphic designer. This is perfectly okay and is usually the best route to go. It is always better to seek assistance when trying to bring your dreams to life in the way you envision them. Contact us at Optamark here for professional graphic design services.

Business Card Design Tips

While many may say using business cards will soon be obsolete, those who use business cards can say that a business card makes a lasting impression on a prospective client or business partner like no other.  A business card is more than just a piece of paper with your name and number on it. It is an extension of your brand, your company or yourself. A well-designed business card is guaranteed to be a conversational piece and attention grabber for new clients or influencers. Here are some tips for designing a successful business card :

Establish a good business card size

The standard business card size is 3.5 by 2 inches. This is the average size of most credit cards meaning that your business card can find a home in wallets and purses easily. However, more unusual business card sizes have been trending such as perfect squares or mini cards (2.75 by 1.125 in). This is a good way to stand out from the crowd but be aware, if the cards are inconvenient they may get lost or thrown out.

Include all key Information

Begin your design (or provide your designer) with all the Key information upfront. Some vital information that should be on a business card includes Name, Number and email address. Job title, office location, company website or social media profiles can also be added onto the card if desired.

Print on BOTH sides of the card

While printing on one side might be cheaper, it is always better to spend a little more and print on both sides of the card. The front side of your business card is a great place to showcase the company logo or portfolio pieces; this is your attention grabber.

Add custom elements your card

Aside from having a custom designed card, business cards that feature elements such as foil stamping, embossing, rounded corners, spot gloss or a colored seam can make a greater impression on the individual receiving your card.

Don’t include personal social media profiles

UNLESS your business card is for your own persons, all information on the card should lead back to your business or company. Including your personal Facebook or Twitter onto the card could harm potential business relationships, especially if the content being posted is not appropriate for business relations.

Don’t include borders in your design

A bordered design might look nice on screen but in the production, house a border on a card can create serious problems. If any of the cards are not cut correctly, a bordered edge will become skewed and very noticeable.

And most importantly:

Choose a good printer/printing service
